The show has come to a close and Texas has a
new queen! Although all of the women lead accomplished lives, Mrs.
Shannon Patterson, just crowned Mrs. Texas 2010 stood out from the rest.
The competition was held at the Palace Theatre on June 12, 2010. Shannon competed with
24 delegates from across the Lone Star State
in Interview, Swimwear and Eveningwear. Shannon
Schambeau Patterson holds a Master’s in Business Administration and a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from St. Leo
University. She was chosen as St. Leo’s Distinguished Alumna for
2008-2009 and was the Student Representative Commencement Speaker for
the 2005 Graduate Programs. Shannon was a Magna Cum Laude graduate and
received the Outstanding Student in Management and Outstanding Student
in the School of Business 2002-2003 Awards from the University.
Shannon was married in November of 2007 and currently
resides in Orange, Texas with her husband John. John played professional
baseball as a starting pitcher with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Montreal
Expos, Washington Nationals and Texas Rangers. Shannon is a Rodan +
Fields Independent Consultant for the new skincare line from the Doctors
of ProActiv. She is also a certified personal trainer and aerobics
instructor.
Shannon was Miss District of Columbia 2005. She
competed for the title of Miss America 2006. She won the Preliminary
Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit Award and was named 4th runner up. She
has been actively involved with the organization as a judge and working
with current state titleholders in their preparation for Miss America
and helping them develop into confident women.
Shannon has been a dedicated Special Olympics
volunteer for more than 18 years and also worked for the International
Headquarters in Washington, DC as the Manager for Donor Relations. She
has volunteered on a local, state and international level. She had the
wonderful opportunity to not only meet, but work beside her greatest
role model, Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
Shannon has a strong foundation built on her faith and
family. She has been on missionary trips to the Dominican Republic and
Haiti and volunteered with for the Jimmy Carter Work Project in
Valdosta, GA. Shannon has helped build over 20 houses with Habitat for
Humanity. She is looking forward to being extremely active in the
community during her year as Mrs. Texas 2010.

Couture, an entire wardrobe for her time at Mrs. America from Alberto
Makali, the official gold and diamond “Mrs. Texas” necklace from
Ballerina Jewelers, plus much more. |
